3do
[edit]Okay, I know 3DO is in the process of going under, but I think using their logo is a copyvio. I won't revert the article yet (to the version before the addition of the image), but I really think this is a copyvio. Please let me know if I'm wrong, or else I'll remove the image in the next few days. —Frecklefoot 15:28, 11 Aug 2003 (UTC)
- Employees were laid off, and the company's game brands and other intellectual properties were sold to rivals like Microsoft, Namco, Crave, and Ubisoft, and also to founder Trip Hawkins, who paid US$405,000 for rights to some older brands and the company's "Internet patent portfolio".
Was Trip the founder? I was under the impression he took over the company in the 90s and kept it floating with money out of his already rich pocket, but I have no sources right now saying either way. Anyone confirm/deny? - Bdice 21:44, 10 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Yes, he was most certainly the founder, I have 1993 articles and reference works confirming that.

$250 games?
[edit]The cost of the games could reach to the price of $250
What 3DO games cost $250? I confess I actually owned one of these things and I never saw a game retail for more than $60. yeah right
Some games cost 100$ (SF2) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.21.82.37 (talk) 17:43, 14 September 2012 (UTC)

[edit]We should have a list of all games 3DO made not just mention a couple I checked this article because I wanted to check a game. Jamhaw 21:05, 11 September 2006 (UTC)jamhaw

Article needs more
[edit]This is such a small and limited article for such a huge mover and shaker in the video game idustry. I would like to see more on their downfall and their constant whoring of the army men franchise.
2.5DO
[edit]When the first fully functional chipset was delivered by the foundry 3DO used for its custom graphic ASIC, the software developers testing the shockingly disappointing 3D capabilities of the sytem deemed it "2.5DO". When the Playstation came on the scene with its breakthrough 3D graphics capabilities, this prophetic moniker was born out and then some. Travismillman (talk) 22:56, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
3 Dimensional Operating System?
[edit]I thought 3DO was a pun on 'audio, video', as if 'three-deo' followed suit. Can someone post a citation for this first theory? VanillaSeagull (talk) 01:39, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
Edit warring
[edit]If 3DO really was "Dissloved into GoAnimate 3D Softwares" then please provide a source. And for Indrian, the only reason I warned you as well is that it was a bit harsh to jump straight in whith the assumption that the edits were vandalism - AGF and all that. Chaheel Riens (talk) 09:24, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
- Have you checked his edit history? He is repeatedly adding false release information to a half dozen obscure console articles. This is vandalism, and AGF has noting to do with it. The 3DO bankruptcy is common knowledge to anyone with a basic understanding of recent video game history and you should be helping protect this article rather than excusing good editors of engaging in edit-warring or 3RR violations.
